The Loudoun County Diaper Bank is operated by A Hand Up-NOVA, Inc., a501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. A Hand Up-NOVA, Inc. participates as a member of the National Diaper Network.

We provide supplies and diapers to local agencies, schools, and their clients. We direct our clients to meet other needs through our network of partners.

Fast Facts about diaper need:

  1. Diaper shortages can reduce access to work and educational opportunities because disposable diapers are required by most child care facilities.
  2. In low income households, babies often spend a day or more in a single diaper leading to spread of disease in public spaces and increased risk of numerous health problems including fungal and bacterial skin infections, UTIs, and worse.
  3. According to studies, a baby crying, from being in soiled diapers for prolonged periods of time, are at greater risk for child abuse.
  4. Families in the lowest economic quartile who have babies spend 14% or more of their disposable income on diapers.
  5. There is no government program to subsidize the cost of diapers for a needy family.

The Loudoun County Diaper Bank  works through established agencies across Loudoun County and western Fairfax County.  Our organization  provides diapers to families in need.
